Nasi Dagang - East Coast Delicacy
    Posted June 18th, 2007 at 9:58 am

Few months ago, a friend of mine had introduced me to a restaurant owned by, I think, a Chinese Muslim and they are serving Malay style food with Chinese ambiance setting.

While lots of people who come to the restaurant would choose Nasi Lemak with lauk-lauk Melayu, but personally I think that the restaurant also has another quite delicious menu called Nasi Dagang.

If you love Nasi Lemak, then you would love Nasi Dagang as well. Although I'm not quite sure what is the ingredient used to cook Nasi Dagang but I assume it's similar to Nasi Lemak and with the distinct taste compare to Nasi Lemak.

The restaurant name is Village Park at Damansara Utama, Petaling Jaya (Uptown). It located same row as HSBC Bank. But keep in mind that during lunch time, this restaurant is jammed packed! You can hardly find any place to sit.

Whenever I'm out with some Chinese friends and never tried Nasi Dagang before, I'd certainly bring them to this restaurant. It's really worth while.

Fire fly and Seafood.. makes a pleasant trip
    Posted June 17th, 2007 at 10:59 pm

    Guys & Gals,

This is my first time posting on the food blog, hope you will understand what I am explaining..

So, my journey on a sat. noon around 4ish..depart to Kuala Selangor but was later caught in a slight jam in Ijok. Reach kuala selangor at 7pm...came across this seafood restaurant called "RIVERVIEW". Order alot of seafood, such as teo Cheow steam fish, a mama size curry fish head, some scallops, clam, veges, chicken and many more...but one dish came out to be the most out-standing, it was the butter crab, the crab was rather small but the sauce was just nice to lick clean from the dish, we decided to ordered some deep fried dumpling for the deeping for the sauce, every1 wasn snatching for it..., The restaurant had some great view (go there around 6-7pm), fast service and serving..after a fine meal, departed to see the fire flies...hope u all can make a trip there too...u will love it.

Lunch At Montalto Winery, Mornington Peninsula [edited]
    Posted June 16th, 2007 at 10:28 pm

Thank God for the Queen's Birthday, We all had a good long weekend to enjoy just a sip of wine, nice bbq chicken pizza, bread olive oil, and nice company. The pizza was good apart from the cold weather that forced me to eat rather cold pizza.

Seating outside, underneath the clear blue sky and sunshine. Looking over a vineyard and beyond. Jazz Music was played by a 3 piece band. This atmosphere complemented the food taste even more. It was just great moment to enjoy.

The only Nasi Lemak I like.
    Posted June 16th, 2007 at 8:59 pm

One of the Malaysia authentic dishes is the Nasi Lemak. However it has never been my favorite dish. It came to my attention when I was shopping for computer parts at Digital Mall located at Section 14, Petaling Jaya. It was about launch time, so I sit down on the next eatery I can find.

PAPA CAFE inside Digital Mall serving a very tasty Nasi Lemak comes with chicken drum stick and its curry mix very well with the “sambal belacan” (type of special chili), serving at the price RM 7.90. It spiciness came with a unique sweetness taste, that make you want to have more. On top of that it goes very well with Ice Coffee.

    Pancakes anyone?!?!
    Posted June 15th, 2007 at 3:29 pm

Pancakes and chocolate lovers unite (well, at least the ones in Melbourne..)!!! Behold, the Chocolate Strawberry Jubilee!! Doesn't this looks just delectable.. Well.. The chocolate pancake is topped with vanilla ice-cream, whipped cream, strawberries and lots of chocolate sauce. To add a final touch, some chocolate flakes on top... Where do I find this delicious concoction?? You can get a serving of this fine-looking dish at the Pancake Parlour in Melbourne. There's an outlet in Bourke St., but for a 24-hour fix, head on down to Doncaster. As for the price... It ranges from AUD$10 - AUD$17.. Not bad for pancakes... Serving's quite reasonable too... Great for sharing... The Pancake Parlour serves other dishes besides pancakes... On a scale of 1-5, 1 being horrible and 5 being superbly awesome, I'd give it a 3.5... So if you're a chocolate or a pancake lover or BOTH, don't forget to pay Pancake Parlour a visit when you're in Melbourne =)

    Crab or Sauce? [edited]
    Posted June 15th, 2007 at 1:12 pm

Well.... there is one crab serving restaurant in Taman Megah SS24, which over flooded with customer during dinner time. Ok... I don’t deny this restaurant is my favourite too. Recently I ask my self, hmmm... does this restaurant really famous for serving fresh crab or just because of its sweet sour spicy sauce! ohhhh.... any way... who cares...!! I love its sweet sour spicy sauce crab serve with toast bread and its special fried rice. If you are near by SS24, do visit Fatty Crab. They have a big sign saying “no pork serve” too.

    Korean Porridge
    Posted May 29th, 2007 at 3:48 pm

I found a place where you can select very good bowls of nutritional porridge. The restaurant is called Bonjuk at Sri Hartamas Damansara, just opposite of Uncle Don.

It is actually a Korean Traditional Porridge Restaurant. The price is ranging from RM12-RM22 depends on bowl size. The picture I uploaded here is Octopus Porridge. It tasted quite spicy and I like it.

When choosing on the menu, they even explain in detail of what they cook within a bowl of porridge. The restaurant decoration is nice and the boss is very friendly too. It’s my recommendation for everyone to try out.

    Dim Sum at KL Hilton
    Posted May 23rd, 2007 at 12:00 pm

I'm actually on the journey to look for pork-free Dim Sim through out KL.

I've started way back before this, but had not taken any pictures. So for the first recommendation here, I'd like to intro Dim Sum cuisine at Cyhnna Chinese Restaurant of KL Hilton located just beside KL Sentral.

Let just say that, they are serving the Dim Sum that my mother in-law would really love. With Dim Sum options of bird nest, herbal jelly, unagi and others.

The picture attached here is the Cod Fish dumplings. Boy, they all sure taste veli veli nice!

The ambiance of the place is fantastic too. Very neatly and well done. Not forgetting that they also serve the ginseng chinese tea with the long nose pot. Like wanna go for kung-fu.

As for pricing each menu range around RM8-RM20 and parking at the hotel would cost RM6 for the first 2 hours. Make sure get the coupon at the restaurant for the parking rebate.
